Mission Beach Water Activities.
Sejala is located right on the beachfront of Mission Beach. The cool water of the Coral Sea awaits you and there are plenty of ways to enjoy it.
Whether you want to hire a dingy, a sailing boat or even a paddle boat, somewhere in Mission Beach there will be a water sports venue.
At South Mission Beach you have Mission Beach Boat Hire right on the beach in front of the caravan park.
What they have to offer is Dingies for fishing in the Hull River, or ocean fishing out behind Dunk Island, which is only 10 minutes away by boat!
You can sail a catamaran, and if you are a novice Gary the owner will point you in the right direction and give you the necessary tuition. He also has single and double kayaks and single skis for coastal paddling.
Also available are sun shades, deck chairs, stinger suits, eskies and fishing lines.
He supplies all the necessary safety equipment and even has stinger suits for the summer months.
The Kayak Company
The Kayak Company is located about 200 meters up the beach from Sejala
They have a wide range of very stable single and double sit on top kayaks to suit all ages, levels and skills. Even the kids will be ok on their own paddling up and down the beach.
It is an introduction to kayaking for those with no previous paddling experience, and early morning is the best time on the water. Enjoy the calm blue waters of Mission Beach and explore this quality foreshore. Keep watch and you can see dolphins, sea turtles and dugongs.
Wear a hat, sunscreen and shirt when on the water to avoid burning by the tropical sun. Tours leave at 6.30am and last around 2 21/2 hours, and of course are subject to weather conditions being favourable. Morning tea included.
Coral Sea Kayaking
Coral Sea Kayaking is outdoor adventure company based in Mission Beach, Tropical North Queensland, Australia , we offer sea kayaking tours, expeditions, private charter and hire within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, visiting many of the National Park islands in the region, such as Dunk Island, Hinchinbrook Island and the Family Island group.
Come and enjoy Dunk Island as nature intended. Sea kayaking is an active, fun and eco-friendly way to explore Dunk Island. Away from the noise and bustle of motors, simply glide along the surface of the water and enjoy the views of the colourful corals and watch the turtles and rays swim past.
We leave South Mission Beach and paddle across to Dunk Island, this is an easy paddle and no experience is necessary. Whilst crossing we may be able to see dolphins and turtles. Stopping at a near by island for a midmorning snack before exploring the shallow waters of beautiful Dunk Island. On Dunk Island we can enjoy a walk through the rainforest and learn about the island ecology and history, then continue on to a secluded bay to swim in the warm clear tropical waters. Lunch will be a selection of delicious salads, cold cuts and tropical fruit.
After lunch we have time to relax on the beach or try snorkelling to get a closer look at the coral and tropical fish of the fringing reef. Then we can return to our kayaks for the afternoon paddle to further explore the nearby islands before we head back to the mainland.
